Not sure what to title the podcast yet (or if we even want to give it a name).  Some prospective titles…

The Hong & Wong Show

Hello, Harbin!

Harbin:  You’re Better Off In Dalian…

Prosecution’s Exhibit A

On today’s two-part episode, The Hong and I (1) introduce ourselves, (2) talk about our first impressions of Harbin, and (3) ramble on about Chinese efficiency and the distinctive Chinese way of doing things.  We welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions for future podcasts.  We’ll also try to keep any future episodes to one 30-minute file.

Note:  having listened to this, the inaugural podcast, I realize that I’ve got to project more and stop with all the “uhs” and the nervous laughter.  Sorry.  I will endeavour to improve as long as I’m a free man…

Rev Up The Revolution!

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Rev up the Revolution ’cause The Wong is heading back to China.  Woo-hoo!  Gonna hit the north side of the P.R.C. on a mission to study Chinese at the H.I.T.  Just in time for the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Incident!  Let’s put the band back together!  Departure in two days, folks.  See ya on the other side.

Speaking of Tiananmen, can you think of one successful student-led revolution?  I can’t.  Every successful revolution in history has been led by one of three groups of people:  (1) proletarians; (2) peasants; or (3) Virginian slave-owners.  That’s it.  Nobody else has successfully revolted.

[Oh, and Cantonese doctors.  Yay, Sun Yatsen.]
